Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) work with patients who have speech, language, voice, fluency, or swallowing speech pathology disorders. They may work in hospitals or clinics, private practice, schools or universities, nursing homes, or research laboratories. They perform examinations, tests, and evaluations as well as provide treatment.
Speech and Language Pathologist often:

Identify and evaluate speech language disorders

Conduct speech and language research

Plan and direct therapy for speech impairments

Provide educational, medical, and professional consultation
